NJVC Establishes New Educational Alliance with UMUC
Alliance offers NJVC employees and their families access to UMUC degree and certificate programs, discounts on out-of-state tuition
Adelphi, Md. (August 21, 2012)—UMUC announced today that it has signed an agreement with NJVC®, an information technology solutions provider headquartered in Northern Virginia, to offer postsecondary education opportunities to the company's more than 1,300 employees and their family members around the world.
"We are pleased that NJVC has joined the university as a Corporate Learning Solutions partner," said Greg von Lehmen, UMUC's senior vice president, External Relations and Initiatives. "NJVC staff, spouses and dependents will have access to all of UMUC's 95 academic programs with the advantages extended by our corporate partnership program. This fits perfectly with UMUC's mission of providing valuable educational opportunities to adult students in Maryland, across the country, and around the world. We look forward to working with NJVC going forward."
Under the agreement, NJVC employees, spouses and dependents can take individual courses or enroll in any of UMUC's 95 academic programs, most of which are available fully online. Students enrolling in UMUC's Undergraduate School may transfer credits and/or be awarded credit for prior learning if eligible under UMUC's standard policies and procedures. Program participants who don't already qualify for UMUC's in-state tuition rates may also be eligible for a significant discount on out-of-state rates.
"NJVC staff are the company's greatest asset," commented Jody Tedesco, NJVC president. "NJVC is thrilled about this new corporate partnership with UMUC to offer employees and their families a wide diversity of top-notch educational choices at substantial cost savings to help further their professional careers."
