Classes and Services

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) holds undergraduate classes on Joint Base Andrews in Prince George's County, Maryland. This site is on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA waiver form may be required. Call 301-981-3123 or 301-981-7244 the week before classes begin for room assignments.



Take the Beltway (I-495) to Exit 9 (Andrews AFB), then follow signs to the main gate. From the main gate, turn left onto Perimeter Road and take the second right onto Brookley Avenue. Go to the third stop sign/dead end, and turn left onto Arkansas Road. The UMUC office is located in the Joseph F. Carroll Building 1413.


Advisors are available for walk-in sessions on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Scheduled appointments with advisors are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 301-981-3123 or 301-981-7244 for an appointment for on-site advising. Students must have base access to meet with an advisor on-site at Andrews. Appointments are available via phone and e-mail for students without base access.

Computer Labs

UMUC students have daytime access to a computer lab on Joint Base Andrews. Call 301-981-3123 for information on the hours and availability of computing facilities.

National Testing Center

UMUC's National Testing Center is open Monday through Thursday with test sessions beginning at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Security and Access

National Testing Center: Proper Military ID is required for base access. Visitors who do not have a Military ID must go to the Pass Office. Access is only granted to visitors if they have been given authority by the Pass Office. However, a person with a Military ID is allowed to bring guests onto base. Guests must present a valid picture ID.

Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act permitting UMUC to provide personal information (such as Social Security Number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online.
