Joseph Sheppard: On a Grand Scale

Join the UMUC community for Joseph Sheppard: On a Grand Scale. Sheppard, a renowned Maryland artist born in Owings Mills, Maryland, has spent more than six decades documenting life in the United States and abroad through realist paintings, drawings, and sculptures.

This compelling exhibition features ambitious large-scale paintings—measuring at least one meter in each direction—that range from still lifes and landscapes to narratives and social commentaries. The powerful works recall the lush canvases of Renaissance masters and demonstrate Sheppard’s controlled style of painting.
