Bianca Bostic – 2014 UMUC Student Advisory Council Member
Bianca Bostic resides in Washington, D.C., with her family. She works in resource management for the National Weather Service. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies with a minor in Speech Communication at University of Maryland University College.
Bostic enjoys volunteering in her local community. She served as a local PTA president for two consecutive years. Under her leadership, the PTA set a new fund-raising record of more than $100,000, which was used to enhance educational enrichment through technology. Bostic also participated in think-tank sessions with the Washington, D.C., school board superintendent and a committee of educators to chart strategies for increasing public school enrollment. Her volunteer efforts also extend to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Food for the Hungry outreach program at her church. Additionally, Bostic served as an editor for a self-help book.
Bostic is proud of the following academic accomplishments:
- Membership in the National Society of Leadership and Success, 2013, and the recipient of the society's Engaged Leader Award.
- Induction into National Society of Collegiate Scholars, 2012
- Induction into Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, 2011
Bostic is dedicated to serving on the UMUC Student Advisory Council and looks forward to representing the student body. She believes in the university's ability to help students achieve their academic and professional goals and become the best versions of themselves.
