Biography

Adejoke Otesanya – UMUC Student Advisory Council MemberAdejoke Otesanya is a U.S. citizen originally born in Nigeria. She is married and the mother of two children. Presently she works for a nonprofit organization in Maryland.

Otesanya earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Accounting with a specialization in the area of internal audits. In 2006 she became a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an affiliate of the International Federation of Accountants, a global accounting body.

As a student in a dual degree master's program at University of Maryland University College, Otesanya earned a Master of Science in Financial Management and Information Systems. She is now working toward completing a Master of Business Administration.  

Additionally, Otesanya is a student member of the Institute of Certified Internal Auditors and Certified Fraud Examiners. She has more than seven years of experience in the accounting and auditing field.

Otesanya is proud to serve UMUC students as a member of the Student Advisory Council. She believes in giving every opportunity her best effort and looks forward to a long future of volunteerism.
