Additional UMUC Scholarship Opportunities

The additional scholarship opportunities below are not administered by the UMUC Financial Aid Office. None of these scholarships require you to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply.

Cybersecurity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

  • Must have a doctorate degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, information technology (IT), policy or related fields
  • Monetary award to cover tuition, fees, and books for two graduate courses in cybersecurity along with a monthly stipend
  • Qualified candidates should have an interest in research or teaching in the cybersecurity or information assurance fields

SAIC Cybersecurity Scholars Program

  • Must be accepted to or enrolled in an eligible UMUC graduate program. (Please note that degree-seeking status is a requirement for the administration of scholarship funds.)
  • Scholarship applicants may not participate in employee tuition reimbursement programs; however, active-duty military students or veterans who are receiving tuition assistance or veteran’s benefits are eligible to apply for the scholarship. 
  • Must have an undergraduate degree in an IT-related field or the equivalent of six years of work experience in the IT field. These fields can include areas such as computer science, electrical engineering, math, and operations research.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) from the last degree earned. Students who are applying for a renewal of their scholarship must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their coursework at UMUC.

Scholarship for Spouses and Dependent Children of UMUC Employees

  • Applicants must be a spouse or dependent child of a UMUC employee
  • Scholarship award may be used for courses in the UMUC-Adelphi Undergraduate School or courses in the UMUC-Adelphi Graduate School
  • In addition, spouses and dependent children of eligible overseas employees may apply award to undergraduate courses at UMUC’s overseas divisions

UMUC Adjunct Faculty Scholarship

  • Available to faculty who have taught at least 30 credit hours at UMUC
  • Primary relationship with UMUC must be as an adjunct faculty member
