Tuition Discounts for Faculty and Staff of American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Member Institutions

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is pleased to offer a 25-percent tuition discount to full-time employees and staff members of American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) member institutions.  The discount is only available to students who are enrolled in UMUC's Doctor of Management programs listed below and have not been awarded a UMUC scholarship.

Doctor of Management

The Doctor of Management (DM) program focuses on applied research and expanding leadership within the field of management, particularly the integration of organizational management issues with technological considerations and the global environment, while considering the critical role of information technologies in all aspects of management practice. This is a hybrid doctoral program that uses online seminars and onsite mandatory residencies for communication and learning.

Doctor of Management in Community College Policy and Administration*

This program is for college faculty and administrators who aspire to lead effectively and advance in administrative careers. Designed for busy working professionals, the interactive program format offers maximum flexibility and convenience as well as the practical knowledge and application necessary to excel in today's community college environment. As a hybrid program, the DM in Community College Policy and Administration is predominantly distance learning with nine on-site residencies, which typically last two to three days, one during each semester of study.

Tuition Discount, Eligibility, and Employment Verification

You must be a full-time faculty or staff member of an American Association of Community Colleges (AACCA) member institution to qualify for the 25-percent tuition discount. The discount applies to all of the 6-credit content courses and 4-credit dissertation courses. The DM and DMCCPA programs both require 48-credits for program completion.

Employment verification is conducted via submission of your most recent paystub from an eligible Alliance institution for each semester you are enrolled and within 10 days of the start of the semester. The paystub may be submitted to Monica Graham, Academic Specialist, via e-mail at monica.graham@umuc.edu or fax 1-240-684-2404. Failure to submit your most recent paystub prior to the start of the semester may result in no discount being applied for that semester.

Excluded Courses

The Alliance tuition discount does not apply to the Doctor of Management and Doctor of Management in Community College Policy and Administration prerequisite and post-doctorate courses: DMGT 600, DMGT 860 and DMGT 899. The discount applies to all 6-credit content and 4-credit dissertation courses.
