* Operational Definition

Historical perspective for UMUC graduates is the ability to put learning and experience in the context of historical events and periods.

Graduates with historical perspective will have gained knowledge of relationships to other times and cultures, past and present, and an appreciation of major contributions of various events and individuals to human civilization. They will have gained a chronological knowledge of the past and/or factual knowledge of a specific historical period, and studied historical topics, trends or events in context of other disciplines to foster an understanding of issues of cause and effect.
