University of Maryland University College congratulates Samir Moussalli, faculty member in the MBA program at UMUC, for being honored at the annual meeting of the Global Business and Technology Association, which took place last November in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Moussalli received two awards at the conference: the Global Leadership Award for his role as conference country cochair and the Best Reviewer Award.

More than 400 participants from over 40 countries attend the GBATA annual conferences. The GBATA Board consists of 34 distinguished scholars and executives. Moussalli has served on the GBATA Board of Directors since 2010 and is a member of the Board of Reviewers of the Journal of Global Business and Technology.

Moussalli received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from California State University, Fresno, and a master's in engineering management from the University of Michigan. Switching his focus to international business, he went on to earn an MBA and a PhD in management and international business at Auburn University. He has taught on both sides of the Atlantic, from the United States to Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, and Spain. Moussalli is also a lecturer, specializing in management, leadership, and international business.
