You'll be able to navigate your student portal more easily and keep important information, such as your degree progress, account balance, and to-do lists, right at your fingertips. It will all be easy to use on your phone, computer, or tablet. It’s part of our ongoing effort to optimize your digital student experience from the day you apply to the day you graduate—and beyond.

Why Is MyUMUC Being Redesigned?

UMUC is committed to delivering a best-in-class portal with a seamless online experience. We want you to be able to complete your academic planning and administrative tasks quickly and easily so you can focus on what's most important—your studies.

What Is Changing?

When you go to the Log In page, you'll see a new button labeled MyUMUC for Students that will take you directly to the new student portal (no more clicking the Student Center link). The first thing you'll notice is the new MyUMUC dashboard. The dashboard is arranged so that you can see the most important information at a glance, including your class schedule, degree progress, grades, registration deadlines, account balance, to-dos, and holds.

We've also reconfigured the menu to make it simpler to navigate, with a clear, scannable hierarchy, and labels that are easy to understand. For example, MyAcademics has been separated into Class Search and Registration, Degree Planning, and Academic Records to make them readily accessible from the main menu.

The new MyUMUC is responsive and consistent across all devices, so you can conduct your UMUC business on the go on your cell phone or tablet or from your laptop or desktop at home. And, everything has a new clean look and feel that matches UMUC's branding.

Will There Be a Guide to the Changes?

Yes! When you enter the new MyUMUC, you can take a quick virtual orientation to the changes.

Were Students Involved in the Planning?

Yes! The redesign involved student input from surveys and focus groups. In addition, advisors who understand your needs and concerns were involved in the redesign.

Additional Improvements Coming?

Yes! Updates and improvements will continue to roll out over the next several months. There are also a few pages that will continue to be accessed in the old MyUMUC until they are migrated to the new design. If you try to navigate to those pages, you will be notified that the page is in the old design, and you may be prompted to log in again.
