Dan Lewerenz, Native American Rights Fund

To celebrate National Native American Heritage Month, come hear Dan Lewerenz speak about the relationship between Maryland and Indian tribes on child welfare.

Lewerenz joined the Native American Rights Fund as a staff attorney in 2017. Before that, he was an attorney-advisor for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Division of Indian Affairs. Lewerenz spent more than 10 years as a reporter and editor for the Associated Press and was a board member, officer, and president of the Native American Journalists Association. He earned a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School and is a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.
