Servicemembers, veterans, and their families are invited to a Military Appreciation Fair and Fun Run on Saturday, May 5 at the Academic Center at Largo.

The event offers an optional, family-friendly Fun Run with pictures at the finish line; one-on-one academic advising on a first-come, first-serve basis; and the opportunity to speak with veterans service organizations and local employers. Walkers and runners are welcome, and the event includes a kid's lap for children 12 and under (accompanied by an adult).

The registration fee for the Fun Run is $25 and will go toward the Veterans Assistance Fund. Advance registration and payment is required. The fee is non-refundable and the event subject to the weather. Children under 12 are free with a paid, registered adult.

In the spirit of Military Appreciation Month, this event will honor One2One mentors, SALUTE Honor Society members, and soon-to-be graduates. A lunch catered by MISSION BBQ will provide time to chat with UMUC students and faculty members.
