Biography
Cheryl Horton has 24 years of experience working with diverse adult populations in the following environments: Social Services, Higher Education, and the Internet. Experience includes: working with employers (Fortune 500, Government Agencies, and Non-/Not-for-profit organizations) recruitment, campus relationship management, candidate prescreening, interviewing, applicant tracking, placement, managing national job boards, career advisement, assessment, and national recruitment initiatives.
Her professional affiliations include: National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, Affinity Partners International LLC (eSearch Consultant), Cooperative Education and Internship Association, Society of Human Resources Management, National Association of Colleges & Employers, Center of Adult Experiential Learning, Developing Institute for Emerging Leaders, Morgan State University Alumni Association and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
Nomination Essay
Cheryl is a dedicated professional who is passionate about helping the many students who come to her for assistance. She is always willing to provide support with administrative matters within School of Undergraduate Services and lends her suggestions for devising strategies to meet the needs of her department.
When issues arise, she seeks to bring about consensus by involving all parties. She also is not hesitant to ask questions and obtain necessary information when attempting to resolve problems that arise.
As a former member of Adelphi Staff Advisory Council, I understand the commitment needed to be effective and believe that Cheryl Horton has the character and dedication that would be an asset to the Council.
