Biography
Cathi was born in Germany to a military family and has two brothers. She graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with an MA in Counseling and Personnel Services.
Cathi originally began working with UMUC Europe in January of 1999. She started off as a Field Rep in Mannheim, Germany and then moved to UMUC Europe's headquarters in Heidelberg where she eventually became the supervisor for Registration Services and Grades. She returned to the U.S. in November 2004 and started working with UMUC Adelphi as an academic advisor on the Military Advising Team.
Cathi comes from a long line of military members and while she decided to forgo that route, she finds it an honor to work with soldiers and airmen who are pursing their academic goals. Cathi's father was U.S. Army Infantry and she watched him go to class over a 13-year time period to accomplish an AA degree.
Nomination Essay
Cathi is a true team player who deeply cares for her co-workers and fellow employees. She has a keen ability to see the "big picture" and works hard to make UMUC a great place to work and study for students and staff alike.
Cathi has a tremendous amount of drive and determination and she has many strengths. She is diligent about accomplishing her goals and she also works wonderfully as a member of a team.
