Nomination Essay
I have known Ms. Lena Collister for many years. She is a very warm person who is always caring about others' feelings and emotions. I have observed Ms. Collister's volunteer work, particularly for non-profit organizations and public schools. I am amazed by her enthusiasm of the volunteer work she has been doing consistently. Her experience includes Student Fees Committee Member for the University of Minnesota in 2002; Minnesota Public Interest Research Group State Board in 2003/2004; and Internship with Neighborhood House/ Public Relations in 2004.
Ms. Lena Collister joined UMUC in 2006. Soon she started to do volunteer work within her union. She is the member of Event Planning Committee in Office of Enrollment Management, in which she plans and organizes events for the team members.
With the expectation to serve the broader UMUC community, I would like to nominate Ms Lena Collister for the Adelphi Staff Advisory Council board member. I believe she would bring a unique perspective and positive energy to the ASAC, and hence to benefit the UMUC community.
