Model Organization of American States (MOAS)

Several University of Maryland University College (UMUC) students represented the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the 2007 Washington Model Organization of American States (WMOAS), held April 9-13, 2007. The event was sponsored by the Department of External Relations and the Organization of American States, and was coordinated by The Inter-American Institute for Diplomacy. Plenary Sessions were held on the first and last days of the event at the OAS Building, in the Hall of the Americas and committees met at the Washington Plaza Hotel.

This was the first time UMUC has sent team of student delegates to this annual event. The UMUC team was unique from other teams in that the group consisted wholly of senior students, of varying professions, who were all enrolled in a combined on-site/Distance Education History class.
