Media Lab

CSI offers a variety of media services to faculty and staff through the Media Lab, located in the Student & Faculty Services Center, Room 1226. Faculty and staff can create multimedia objects independently or with assistance from CSI staff using the Media Lab's resources. Appointments are required to ensure availability and operability of the equipment prior to its use. If you would like to use the Media Lab and/or require assistance, fill out the Request CSI Services/Reserve the Media Lab form. CSI staff provide the following services through the Media Lab:

  • CD and DVD duplication
  • Graphic and animation design
  • Project consultation and analysis
  • Teleconferencing and/or meeting space with plasma screen display
  • Specialty scanning (35mm and 4x5 format negs, transparencies)
  • Video and audio recording, editing, and encoding
  • Videoconferencing between specific UMUC locations
  • Web and multimedia design
  • Web and multimedia programming (HTML, Flash, JavaScript, etc.)

Media Lab Usage Policy

  1. Use of the Media Lab must be scheduled.
  2. The Media Lab is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  3. Users of the Media Lab cannot change or reconfigure the Lab's resources.
