The U.S. Department of Education and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have announced that the IRS Data Retrieval Tool is currently unavailable. This does not prevent you from filing your FAFSA and if you are required to submit tax information, please request a Tax Return Transcript from and submit it directly to UMUC upon receipt.

No Financial Aid Disbursements Starting December 22

Due to the upcoming university holidays, financial aid will not be disbursed December 22 or the week of December 25. Disbursements will resume as normal on Tuesday, January 3.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Be sure to apply for Federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as FAFSA.

When you apply, please enter school code 011644 to ensure University of Maryland University College receives your FAFSA information.

We also encourage you to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, which streamlines the FAFSA process by enabling you to transfer your tax information directly into your application for aid. You can access the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA website.

Book Voucher Update

Please be advised that many UMUC courses will not require you to purchase materials. Please check your class syllabi for information specific to your courses. Book voucher requests cannot be canceled. If you request a book voucher and only use a portion of the funds, UMUC must wait until the end of the semester to reconcile your account and refund the unused funds to you.
