University of Maryland University College is offering the JBLM Graduate Scholarship to lower tuition costs for active-duty servicemembers and their spouses and dependents who qualify for UMUC's graduate military tuition rate and enroll in hybrid courses in the Master of Science in management program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

The scholarship will be available for the spring, summer, and fall 2018 terms at this time.

Apply to UMUC in Three Easy Steps

  1. If you are not already a student at UMUC, complete the UMUC application for admission.
  2. Send UMUC official transcripts for college coursework completed outside of UMUC.
  3. Talk to an admissions advisor if you have questions about the application process.

Meet the Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the JBLM Graduate Scholarship, you must 

  • Meet the admissions requirements of the university
  • Be admitted as a degree-seeking student pursuing a Master of Science in management
  • Enroll in one or more of the following courses in a hybrid format at Joint Base Lewis-McChord:
    • UCSP 615
    • MGMT 630
    • MGMT 640
    • MGMT 650
  • Qualify for UMUC's graduate military tuition rate

Deadline and Submission Information

There is no separate application process for the JBLM Graduate Scholarship. You must register for courses by the registration deadline of the term in which you want to receive the scholarship. We will contact you through the MyUMUC student portal if you are selected to receive this scholarship.

How the Scholarship Works

If you receive the JBLM Graduate Scholarship, you could earn up to $1,371 toward the completion of your core coursework in the Master of Science in management curriculum. It will be disbursed in increments after you register for each of the specified core courses.

If I have to leave Joint Base Lewis-McChord before my core courses are complete, can I transfer the scholarship to online courses? +

No, this scholarship is for hybrid courses at Joint Base Lewis-McChord only. UMUC will not grant any exceptions to this rule.

Do I have to complete all four core courses in the Master of Science in management to receive the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Graduate Scholarship? +

In order to receive the full amount of the scholarship, you must complete all four core courses in the Master of Science in management. However, you could earn partial scholarship amounts based on how many of the core courses you take at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Will the JBLM Graduate Scholarship be available in 2019? +

The scholarship will be available for the spring, summer, and fall 2018 terms at this time.

If I began the Master of Science in management program at another location or online, am I still eligible for the JBLM Graduate Scholarship? +

Yes. However, the scholarship will only cover specific courses taken in a hybrid format at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. You will not receive a reimbursement for courses taken online or at any other locations.
