Reflective Exercises

After completing the Co-op Learning Contract, you will have five additional assignments/modules to complete. You will submit these exercises directly to your faculty member. The syllabus details the weeks each assignment is due, but you will need to discuss your specific due dates with your faculty sponsor.

Students working on-line will refer to the modules for further information about the assignments. Students in the individual or classroom formats, please refer to the course guide for further information.

Position Assessment Paper:
This paper allows you to describe how your current work relates to your supervisor's and company's goals. You will also reflect upon how your current position fits into your current career goals.

Progress Report:
halfway through the 15 week session you will assess your progress and review how you are doing with regards to accomplishing your learning activities. You should explore the benefits of your Co-op experience for both you and your employer, your accomplishments and any difficulties you may have encountered.

Assignment/Module 4 (due week 10):

Integrating Classroom Theory in the Workplace:
This assignment addresses both your overall academic preparation and the application in the workplace of a theory or concept from your academic studies. You will evaluate how the courses you have taken have prepared you for your current position and identify additional coursework you will need to further develop your career. In this assignment, you will also discuss how an academic theory that you have learned has been applied in the workplace.

Organizational Profile:
This assignment encourages you to look beyond the scope of your particular job to learn about your organizations structure and culture, and how it may or may not be impacted by globalization. You will also have a chance to interview others in your organization to enhance your awareness of other units, networking, and visibility.

Assignment/Module 6 (due week 14):

Reflection Report:
Here you will explain what you have learned during your Co-op session taking organizational behavior, communication skills and processes, technical issues and skills, and personal and career development into consideration.
