This year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Maryland Sister States Program, UMUC has been selected to host an art exhibit from the Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa. From November 16 through December 3, a total of 96 ukiyo-e prints depicting landscapes of Kanagawa will be on display in the Gladys Goldstein Gallery of the Inn and Conference Center. The opening reception, where the visiting Japanese delegation will be welcomed, is on Monday, November 20th, at 6:30pm. In addition, on Friday, November 17, UMUC will sponsor an Art Talk in the Gladys Goldstein Gallery at noon. Mr. Fumio Saito, director of the Kawasaki Museum and owner of the ukiyo-e collection, will speak about these exquisite pieces. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to bring their lunch and participate in this exciting event. |
