Program Overview

Graduates of UMUC's Master of Science in Accounting Systems (MSAS) qualify for one year of work experience toward the Certified Information Systems Auditor(tm) (CISA®) designation. As of April 8, 2010, the MSAS curriculum is in alignment with the ISACA® Model Curriculum for IT Audit and Control, 2nd Edition.

The curriculum requires 36 credits and consists of six accounting courses, five information systems courses and one program capstone.

Note: Successful completion of the program may satisfy the educational requirement for candidacy for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam or to practice as a CPA vary among states. Students are responsible for staying abreast of the current requirements of the state in which they will sit for the exam or practice professionally.
